ya, the power macs are shweet!!
dual G5's and up to 8Gig of ram??? DAMN!!!!
5G plus monitor was out of my price range tho........ for now

iMac, i'm liking it!!
takes some getting use to in the beginning (just like the switch from straight DOS was to 3.1 ) but all is good..
love the monitor..nice having everything in one slim unit, saves on the real estate.....looks damn sexy too
the more i learn about OSX the better i like the architecture over Windows..i think Tiger'll make things easier for someone who wants things to look like windows does, but things'll run a lot cleaner w/o all the shyt in the background
IE for Mac SUX!! and Office is on it's final version (Microsoft's idea of trying to hamper the competition ) but OSX is open code so a fix will always be available

I run the new super Mac G5's. 2 terabytes of uncompressed storage. Dual 19" specialty graphic flat screens.

Even with that, it can still take me overnight to render

Mac Avid is of course the best.

A great one for PC is Adobe Premiere.

But both are expensive. (You need to buy a Mac to use Avid.)

If you're on Windows XP, one of the best rated free ones out there is Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2.

What year are you living in? Avid has been available for PC for at least 4 years now. You can buy the cheaper versions for about a grand, and well worth it. Will outperform Premiere any day. But Premiere is easy to get off the net, so it's free, and good enough for what you guys are using it for.

Yeah, I used to use premiere - back in teh day when good ol' hotline was still a great place for warez..

Pound for pound the Mac OS is far easier and durable than the Win OS. I've set up many Mac based networks, and they are sooo little maintenance. Last year I upgraded a whole small company's network. They were still using 6100's as workstations and 9500's as their servers. (these are OLD machines - 1994 vintage...) Try and get that mileage from a wintel box.

But I really like microsoft cuz they keep me gainfully employed!

MAC's as a standalone computer are alright...and they ONCE were superior when it came to grafix/video editing but those days are long gone. Either way, MAC's will never replace windows machines in a corporate environment...they are just terrible when it comes to networking.
