you are correct that golf is a recreational activity..... but in certain circumstances. just like ANY sport is a recreational game when there is no competition involved.

need I say more???
i am not mistaken.

golf IS being introduced in 08 olympics. so what ballroom dance is in the olympics. does that make it a sport also? thats a weak argument to justify golf as a sport.

yes, any sport can be catagorized into a rec activity depending on how much u tone DOWN the activity level. but the nature of golf just doesnt not make it a sport.

in what circumstances is golf NOT A rec activity??? i dont see your point at all.

if anyone wants to disagree with me about golf being a sport, come on down and we can go through my stacks of literature about sport culture around the world
im a also a post grad..in kinesiology and health sciences. ive also taken a course that discussed the history of sport.

id like to hear about this "STACKS OF LITERATURE" that argues that golf is a sport.

please do say more.

how is golf not a sport? doesnt it require physical fitness and skill? and there are tournaments and competitions etc. I believe its a sport...18holes isnt a leisurely walk in the park, its pretty intense
