I was just going to say the same. Don't let them scare you about 'slander'. YOu got your car fixed by the,, and this is the job they did. I dont think they know the definition of slander.

I'd definately be calling the B B B on monday if i was you.

seriously, go back and demand that they pay for the brand new parts u want and the cost to get them installed at another reputable place (or just ask for whatever). if they threaten to sue you, thats BS. they were supposed to do soemthing for u, they did a 1/2 a$$ed job... if anything, u could take them to court for doing a bad job on ur car and making it not safe to drive in.

well i've already filed a formal complaint with Ontario's Ministry of Consumer and Business Servies. But i will also be filing a formal complaint with the BBB.
Well i've researched a little on slander and libel. Like mentioned above its only if you make false accusations that cause damage to a person or organization.
So with that said.
STREETWYZE
is the shop that did the work to my car.
They said, "oh when your mechanic did your clutch he probably cross threaded the crap out of the bolt" Even IF thats true, which it is not b/c i still have the bolt and its in perfect shape and the threads in the tranny which are now exposed are fine, that still wouldn't cause this to happen. However using the wrong rear mount, which they did, would cause this. No slander there, only the facts. And threatening to sue me looks very unprofessional then again its his only defence b/c he knows damn well that he used the wrong parts. But i in my opinion this whole situation speaks volumes of the kind of shop streetwyze is.
Regardless, i cannot afford to wait for them to do anything about this because i need my car to get to work everyday

No, and i don't think anything is going to happen. From my experience with streetwyze i've learned that they are very slow getting parts, they will get the wrong parts, and they won't do what they promised to do.

You people speak of just 'doing it yourself' like it's something you learned to do in grade 2. Swapping a tranny for me is a hard thing to do. Not everyone can do it by themselves. I sure as hell, wouldn't know where to begin if I had to do a tranny swap.

yea while we ar at this dissing companies

LUCKY STAR JAPANESE AUTO PARTS INC
32 INGRAM DRIVE
NORTH YORK
ONT

This is a place u should never go to get your engin swapped out

some facts that i experianced with this crappy company

They quoted me the wrong price on the phone then i rented a flatbed drove all the way there and then dropped the car off and they told me o u said it was a non v-tec so its more money now 2 replace the motor was $800 now its $1200 just 4 the motor D16

I work nights so the car is there 2 days i think i find a ride there after working 12 hours at night so i arive at the shop and the car is outside the shop not even open jet im falling asleap.

they open i go inside i pay my bill we come outside he openes the hood and stands there looking at me.
The engin was black and looked like it was 500000000 years old
I knoew it was used if it ran it was fine with me they siad it had 30.000 on it

I get in the car the car is covered in oil it stinks in there my floar mats boath sides are black with dirty boots i think it was a mechanik taxi or something

i drive home and fall asleap in bed then i wake up and go outside 2 wash the car im more awake now. There was a big white scratch about 10 inches long and about 5 of them together fight down the center of my boddy kit . so i open the hood and the scratch goes all the way in2 my engin bay the engin looks like crap but runs ok i dident use vtec on the way home took it easy.

so i call them up and say u guys scratched my car wtf are u going 2 do about it they said drive up and we wil take a look at it.

i live in newmarket so this is far out of my normal driveing so i drive over and they all stand there mmmm aaaaaammm aaaa this was done buy the towtruck that braught it here. I said naa ots not i braught the car here myself with a flatbed the car was perfect wen it arived then they changed there story o now it was done on the way home i must have hit something or some kids came up my driveway and did it

I show them the scratch goes all the way into the engin bay he siad yea so wel the hood coveres half the scratch and its fine ooo so what difference does it make . o so the thing i hit went under my hood and never scratched it or these kids broke in2 my car opened the hood and then cratched the **** out the front and then left?????

i got tolf 2 **** off there is nothing they can do about it or nothing i can prove since i drove it home i should have looked wen picking it up im pissed but can understand i have nothing on my side ere.

then i pull out the shop and floar it all mad the vteck dosent cick in at 3.5 any more its now at 5.2 and its sooooo wimpy so i turn around and explain its a ***** motor now and why u told me its the same motor?? . OOO it must be timeing so i drive the car in the back and this black guy come up opened the hood unscrewd the drstributar(SP) and starts yanking it back and forth reving the motor
advanceing and retarding the timeing im told so then he tightens it back up and said ok try that now so i go and try it same **** its wimpy and vteck sucks.

they then tell me the motor needs time 2 settle come back in a week then we wil change the oil . ok i said and i drive home 5 mins from home the engin light comes on

so i call them up and they want me 2 go back and they wil test it so i then join tcc and i find out u can flash the comp with a paperclip i do this and knock sensor comes up so i open the hood and im new at the whole car thing and engin swaps and sensors and **** im used 2 motorbikes and carbs .

so i find the sensor wel i find a green plug on a wire shoved under the intake with some wired wrapped around eatchother on the green plugg.

turns out they never installed aknock sensor and they jimmied it with wire so the light dident come on my old comp was chipped and they stole it and gave me a **** one and the motor is a vtec-e.

i call them up and say wtf and whats with the vteck-e oo its from japan a d16y5 is not econamy " the guy puts the phone on the desk and starts takling 2 toher customers while im bitching at him then picks up the phone while talking 2 some other guy in japanese or something then tells me if i dont know what im talking about or have proof its not there problem and hangs up so this is a long winded bitch from me about that ripp off company

NEVER SHOP THERE

in total from them D16y5 installed with ****ty clutch installed and new belt cost me over $2000 im soooo unhappy

now tcc is my best friend and il buy my motors on here from now on with people that are helpfull i love this site!!!!!

in all my experiance with shops and such i've met one that i would go back to without question, well if he didn't live so far away anyways, that being scott newman... every single other place i've had work done or anything has screwed up something generally stupid or laziness based

actually wheel and tire zone was good to but they just did an alignment... but unlike 2 shops previous on my old car they actually set it straight

besides i'd rather pay myself $50/hr or more to fix my car

i will NEVER take my car back to a shop that isn't an affiliate of TCC. I prolly won't take my car to any shop b/c i prefer to do my own work, that way i know it was done right and if I cut corners its my own fault.
It sucks to hear there are so many unreliable shops around doing shotty work.

Ok
With all these stories that I’m reading about these places screwing everybody over and not doing a good job and that don’t give a sh*t about you right? Well, I’m going to try to get a B16a2 soon for my 95 coupe, where should I take it that will do a good job and most importantly that YOU GUYS recommend?

Sorry to change a thread topic, but I think that it’s a good question to ask after all that
