It can be fun to have the snappy comeback, but sometimes you get the message across effectively by simply saying, "No."
Then let them figure out the impact of what they just said, for themselves.

Just say no.

If they still make a comeback, then it's HR time.

one of two options

1) Jenny Craig http://www.jennycraig.com/?dfa=jenny...FSASQQod3Qyb7Q

or

2) do a preganacy test on the spot and leave it in thier desks!

are these men or women asking you? Cuz women are usually far more tactful about these things, and so SHOULD understand why you don't ask something like that, if its guys asking you then I say go with zeeman's response.... "no I'm not pregnant, do you have erectile dyfunction?"

lol.. some of them I would love to say, but I am a teacher.. it's all women and man who are asking me.. I think it's rude to ask someone if they are pregnant when they barely know me. Just because I don't wear something tight and show my figure that they assume that i'm pregnant?

Bottom line it's rude and as a new teacher my self-confidence is slumping quickly from disfuntional and rude people

Vicki, you are a beautiful woman, don't let them get to you. It has happened to me too...I was really thin at the time too (must have been my posture).

lol it's all kinda funny. i'd never put myself in that situation. for one, i really don't care if someone's pregnant or not. and secondly, there is no good ending to that conversation cuz a) she's not w/ child and i look like a jerk or b) she is carrying the seed and may potentially bore me or gross me out w/ a conversation i really didn't want to have in the first place.

as for your response, it depends on how you wanna make them feel. if you wanna make it all awkward, just look down at your belly, look up at them and just shake your head 'no'. actually, now that i think about it, there is no way to make the situation not be awkward, unless you say yes.

In my opinion, if it bothers you then you need to make a change in yourself. If one person asked you, it's an isolated incident. If the whole office is asking, odds are you may need a diet.

I hate to sound cold.. just saying.
