Only 2 days, 1st was my former Manager called me at home, and told me the whole Technical Service Team were laid off including herself, and they have to close the office in the Canada Sector.

Then my friend who worked for Telus email me today, he was laid off this morning...He's been working for the same company since he graduated from University!

Not to mentioned many of my friends who were making crazy $$$ 2 years ago in the I.T. Sector were laid off in last few months!

Well, not sure what to say now! Just wanted to share with you all!

The market is cyclical it will come back...

sorry hear that...but here's some good news....we had a career fair at my school recently ( u of t) and a lot of companies are lookin for people...IBM is lookin for 300 people and infosys is lookin for some too....just hope that helps in your search..good luk

Just to clarify a little bit...it wasn't me who was laid off...I left that company and started my own business...

It was my former Manager and my old team were laid off! But still suck and feel their pain...especially my Manager, she is a single mom with two little girls, just recovered from the devorce, bought her new house, tried to start a new life...!

But I will let her know about the job fair... Thanks!

My bro is in IT and he wants to leave his job to find something else, but there really isn't a whole lot out there. He was lucky, when he got this job. He was going to ITI when the whole market crashed and his school went into receivership. He's lucky he was able to graduate. A lot of people got screwed out of a lot of money when that happened.
