there was an exact thread like this before, probably 3-4 years back....same wording too......

dam, it brought alot of arguments.....haha

rice = food

thats the conclusion.

but for me, i call a ricer a person who slaps on an exhaust that sounds like it is leaking, raspy and rips it down the lane to get girls attention AKA kids

rice Audio pronunciation of "rice" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rs)
n. 1. A cereal grass (Oryza sativa) that is cultivated extensively in warm climates for its edible grain.
2. The starchy grain of this plant, used as a staple food throughout the world.
^ Taken from dictionary.com

Everyone has different taste, you should mod your car to your liking, not anyone elses.

i believe there are no rice-cars or rice-boys, the person that has found this out is probably a moron or something, cause everybody likes to tune his car his own way, so they look all different, no rice bull****, just fun with tuning. Instead of calling each other names and stuff, you should appreciate it, it's allready hard enough for us, tuners, to get accepted in the world of tuning without those ****'s that like to call you rice.

Rice is essentially modding your car for the "appearance" of being a fast rocket with little in the way of practical application. ie: big aluminum wing on the back of a Front wheel drive four banger.

Don't get me wrong, to each his own. Show or go comes down to personal pref.

rice is the definition of a foodproduct. Japanese eat rice, americans eat rice, indians eat rice, europeans eat rice, and if you eat to much of it, you **** rice too, but rice is not a definition for a car.

I think rice is basically For over Function. Things that do not improve the way your car operates.

But, obviously, it is a completely subjective topic...so I'm not going to go any further into. I could care less what is considered ricey.

Gunmetal headlights would be ricey if they weren't gunmetal and were lime green instead. So whogivesaflying****aboutitman!

RICE is putting on a massive GT wing on with rusted bolts bleeding from the trunk and sporting a 4" tip blacked out to hell from running too rich cuz the monkey thought by putting on an intercooler like intake he had to up the a/f maps with an AFC, then having a fear of detonation cuz this dude @ works tells him he should start pumping 94 octane and after every 2-3 days complains "gas is too expensive" cuz hes running on E.

i personally believe rice is when you know dick all at what your doing....like most ppl have said lack of funtionality or too much thereof as in the fictional case above. But then again, isn't it really about how each person perceives "rice"

(probe driver) rice=japanese 4 cyc.
(you) rice=neon light on an automatic ford probe

Was it a GT Turbo at least?

People will always have their opinion on what's 'right' or 'wrong' with everything.

anyone with Altezza tails....WAIT?? shiiit...I've got Gay-tezza tails....hahaha. Well they look alright for now, goes with the current look.

But pretty much Rice is Giant wings, Altezza aren't too popular, Decals, Exhaust where you can stick your whole head in...everyone has their own opinion....

whatever you do to your car...you'll alway find some haters....but as long as you like the look...that's all that matters.

well it doesnt matter what WE think is rice now does it? we are the one getting stereotyped, so what we think dont matter.

we may think rice is large wings, tezzas, too much vynil, over the top kits, etc.

but the people stereotyping us call us ricers cuz we have a honda (even if its bone stock), end of story.
