I love my parents, I have no problem living at home. It is like I am renting space from them, pay them money each month while I save money on the side for myself. It is all good. They are pass their 50s so having me around helps sometimes, to do house works and whatnot.
I never understood the western society mentality, young kids moving out at such early age. If that means independence, then to me, I think their are getting their message in the wrong way.
I would love to live with my parents forever. When they become old and retired, they are welcome to come live with me.

The last night I slept in my old bed at home was May 28, 1999. I was 26 years old and got married the next day. However, my house wasn't ready so I stayed at my Mom & Dad's home until September 10, but slept with my hubby in the guest bedroom (it has a queen size bed, I only had a single).

i moved out about 4 months ago. I am 22 and wished that i would have moved out sooner. Its the bees knees!
Not that i didn't enjoy living at home....it was great. I didn't have to do a thing....literally....except go to school.
But when i was 16 i moved to the states with my parents. Then when i was 21 we moved back to canada to live with my grandparents for a year (we had to be out of the US for a year for immigration reasons). My parents moved back to the states shortly after that year was up, so i stayed with my grandparents for a few months then moved out into a house with my girlfriend.
Booouuuuurrrrnnnnsss to living with your girlfriend....just kidding. (she's standing right behind me so i had to put that)....lol

22, still at home, and will be untill I have enough saved for a nice down payment on a house. No renting for me plz.
Nothing wrong. Loving it here. Help my parents as much as I can, and they are cool with anything I do, even using 80% of the garage and basement for all my electronic and car crap, but then again I am always helping by doing work around the house for them, and I buy them stuff out of the blue sometimes ($500 dynomax exhaust for my dads durango lol)
No rush for me

For me, I can't imagine parents wanting their kids to move out, or even kick them out. I know there are such folks however, a family should stick together, rather then separating each other apart.

that just shows the HUGE difference in our cultures. i had friends in highschool, that were kicked out at 18. not bad kids either, their parents said "your 18, go provide for yourself"

i lived in res during the 1st 3 yrs of my undergrad and then lived on my own during 4th yr, but that doesnt really count cuz it was for skool and i moved back home every summer. i finally moved out to downtown again this past jan at the age of 27, but again, its just so i can be closer to the lab and skool and not have any distractions; living at home in markham was not conducive for proper grad studies. but i will be moving back home in a yr to save $$
