Question Where do you get the money to mod your car?

Rather an non-original question, but this got me thinking the other day.

One would think that there will be more important things in life besides modding a car, or go crazy on some other personal collectable items. At this age, I need to focus on how to make a living in the future, to save money for a house, marriage, and even retire fund. I am sure a lot of people think that way.

As much as I wish to blow all my saving on my car and just get what I want, I can't. I suppose I need to listen to my woman and carefully allocate my funding accordingly. Which I am. One major car project per year, aside from necessary maintenance schedules.

You can pretty much picture how much money you can make, roughly that is. It is not like you will get 20% increase all of a sudden. With all the bills and whatnot, I can save a substaintial amount, but like I said, I can't blow it all. I guess I am rather fortunate in that aspect. Afterall, car is a hobbie, and it is too late for me to make money off of my hobbie (i.e. open a shop, become a professional racer... etc).

I work at Pizza Hut as a cook part-time. Make $7.15 an hour and work 15-30 hours a week. I don't invest much money in my car and i mainly save it cause just like you said, need to think of the future.

I like to work a lot and save like a ****!!! Not having an active social life is the key to not spending to much money. As for the future the rrsp contributions take car of that to an extant. I will save for a house after i have a mint car...

Shoppers Drug Mart full-time (until september, when I go away for school).
I make $8.50 an hour, paychecks get split into 50% car money, 30% school money, 20% spending money.
