Thumbs up Who has a Bit Char-G?

Ok well i just got one for xmas and i bought the 2.6 motor last night. All i gotta say is it's so much more fun now! But the problem is my car keeps spinning out. Would the soft compound tires help? What about suspension and gear upgrades, do they do anything? This thing is pretty fun, when i first got it i never thought i'd mod it up but now that i switched the engine i just want to do more!

hmm...maybe your idea of fast is different than mine?

is your 2.6 motor slightly more than twice as fast as the 1.0?

when i say fast i mean compared to the stock motor, i dont mean this thing flies across the room like a bat out of hell or anything

it was faster, but not like double the speed of the 1.0

i think i'll buy those aftermarket 3.6 motors, and some racing gears......should be of some help

(softer tires do help from spinning out, i interchanged between the soft-stock tires and noticed alot of reduced spinouts)

I have 2 Bits currently, and I had the same problem with my 2.6 and 3.0 motors that I purchased. On my first Bit (the white Skyline with 2.2) the motor upgrades really didn't help much. But, I recently purchased the Skyline history set and on that car the motors perform as they should — FAST! So it could just be that the gears aren't meshing as well as they could be. Unfortunately I haven't found a solution to the problem. I did notice some performance increase (and also reduced noise) when I sprayed the gears with lock de-icer (or you could also use graphite suspended in oil).

I now have a 1.0, 2.2, 2.6 and 3.0 motor. I find the 2.6 to be the best all-around motor — it's quick off the line and continues to be fast. The 3.0 is quick but it takes some time to get up to speed.

Gear sets are quite effective. My neighbour has a set for his Bit and they work very well. He can keep up to my 2.6 with the standard gearing when he uses the faster gears on his 2.2 equipped car.

I purchased Bit Racer tires and they're not as effective as the actual coloured Bit Char-G tires. I just don't like the colours of the Bit Char-G ones. Some people suggest making your own out of foam rubber like you find on pencil pillows, etc.

As for the stabilizer sets, I don't have any experience with those but I have doubts that they really do much of anything.

ryanhook>> thx for the feedback and link!

1slocivic>> as for the 2.6 motor not performing up to par, did you make sure that you swapped out the white pinion gear that comes with the motor with the stock black one? because the instruction manual indicates the clear gear should NOT be used with a Bit Char-g

OcTaNtEdDy and I, got ours last year in the summer.....He went nuts on all the options.

I opted for the boster set car, and the upgraded remote. I have the suspension pack......it really only helps on REALLY smooth surfaces.

Those "soft" tires should help reduce spinouts, but you have to keep them clean......if you don't, you'll start spinnung out again when they get dirty.

I find the 1.0 to be the most fun in tight places....ie.......small make-believe city. Easier to park and turn corners.

I like the 2.2 myself. Great all around motor.

Got all the others too......but I find they don't give me the running time that i want.....too short. I'll be upgrading the capasitor/battery in my car soon, so I can get a much LONGER running time....ie.....5-10 min.

You can buy em at PacMall and various hobby stores around the GTA, usually theyre called Microsizers which are basically US bastardized versions of the Bit Char-G. Microsizers are made by TOMY so its really all the same, just a different name.

I got 3 Bit Char-Gs along with like 11 bodies, and like 5 different sets of tires.

1.) Original Bit-Char-G Nissan Skyline w/ 2.2 motor, stock gearing, medium compound tires

2.) Boosted Bit-Char G w/ Mitsubishi Evo7 body 3.0 motor, soft tires, stock gearing

3.) Wild Char-G (Off road Bit) 2.2 motors, lifting mechanisim, real slow, but lots of torque

Yea thats all I have, working on headlights and tailights for em all. Got like 100 red and 100 yellow 3mm LEDS for em. Ryan guy, we gotta meet up so I can give you some of these lol. www.questformadness.com is a great bit char-g site. If you wanna try something cool, do the dual battery mod, makes an enormous difference, me and my friend did it to his car, we could pull wheelies off the line!

It basically has a button on top of the remote that when you press it gets an extra jolt of power. I have the option to permanently have boost on, its a lot better, because w/o it, its super slow.

Yea, the newer models usually have em, theres also a seperate 4 channel contoller with the boost function, and the ability to switch to any of the 4 channels, thats what I have, really good controller to have.
