FIFA bases rankings on a number of variables...and you might think that USA gets it easy because they play easier teams in World Cup qualifying and such BUT FIFA awards more points for tougher matches as well. Trust me, USA is good.

Yep, you're right -- USA are a fine team, top twenty for sure. Not top 10...

USA is actually ranked 10th now btw and england 7th and I don't believe netherlands, mexico, or italy are top 10 teams.
And here's the policy on rankings...

why do you feel that mexico, ITaly and the netherlands dont deserve to be there? I dont knwo much about the mexican team so i will not say they belong or dont but both Italy and the Netherlands have a very good, deep team, that is much imporved from recent years, and have done well, it seems you are basing your opinion on who is playing the best at this exact moment, and thats not how it works, If belize wins the world cup they wont be ranked number one even if there team is dominant, their rank would shoot up but its still wont be enough

actually the team isnt that **** at all, the team is actually quite deep with a lot of very good young players, who mainly came off as subs, actually i think the team is better now than the team the y brought to the world cup,
Portugal really only had this Euro where they did very well, they have a great team but have been under achieving ever since these players got out of the 17 and unders, and now that they have one foot in retiement they decide they like international soccer.

being an italy fan, i must admit that italy has an amazing team but the inner problem within the team with players and coaches seems to be the real problem. If the team didnt have problems with each other, i think they would be unstoppable. And dont think that since Greece won the Eurocup that they are better than all the established programs. They got lucky and i dont care what anyone says.

in recent time i dont think they have belong in top 5, and if it wasnt for them smoking a lot of people in friendly's and qulaifying they would probably be in like 13th but ya there is a lot of thigns considered when making a ranking so its tough to say who belongs where
