To be honest, I am surprised at how many people here don't smoke. Regardless of how many people detest the no-smoking bans, I think it has helped. Actaully, most of the people I know who smoke, tell me they preferred to sit in the non-smoking section of restaurants (when we had that).
Everytime I go to Japan, I am always amazed at how many people smoke there. Few restaurants have 'non-smoking sections'. Even if there is a 'non-smoking' section, you still smell it.

in europe you can smoke everywhere, from the classroom to the work desk, from cradle to grave!
