I work for staples and have seen plenty of people coming in with problems about vista already.
One person installed it and every time he opens a certain folder on his computer the whole system crashes.
I prefer xp and do no see the benifits of vista. It KILLS wayyyyy to many system resources just to run. I really do not see the point and will try to stay away from it for as long as possible.

there is a plataue of how much ram you really need in a comp. I think 1gb was at the high point on the graph and approaching 2gb it leveled off meaning you really didn't see that big of an increase going to 2gb over 1gb.
Try fine tuning your pc and disabling services you dont need instead.

vista's a great OS. Staples has all versions on sale right now, or you can download a beta to test it out. take alot of video and ram to run if using Windows Aero visual effects. and for those of you that like vistas features and dont wanna leave xp they are comming out with a xp service pack 3 for xp with some vista features.

when i was beta testing vista there was an article mentioning it would be out soon after vista complete. itll come with some features like windows defender, which vista comes with for a firewall. plus more games, visual effects. etc.
