wisdom teeth

ok so today i finished exams and everything and am all excited bout summer and what better way to celebrate then go have wings with the gf and some friends. im soooo happy university is over!! well for the summer at least :S....
anyways so thats not the point, just thouhght id stick that in b/c im so excited... so anyways, after my exam i had over to the dentist and buddy tells me i gotta get my wisdom teeth pulled.. now ive heard horror stories and some stories where people say its a joke. i only have my 2 bottom wisdom teeth and the one is already coming out of the gum (The other one is just barely inside). they are not impacted and are coming up straight so the dentist said the surgery is pretty simple...
ok so has anyone got them removed??? how long does it take and how long does it take to recover? like.... i dunno, i hate needles .. cant stand them but im guessing imma get a local... so i dunno what else? T3's... my bro has a bunch left over and ive taken them for headaches a few times and i know they work but they dont seem to like blow me over...
i dunno just hahaha, my appointment is next tuesday so ... anything guys??? and girls???

Dude really its nothing.

I took the chicken way out.. they put me to sleep and I had ALL 4 removed at the same time..

First day no pain
Second day no pain
then the next 2 days you will start feeling but honestly i ha dmine done on Friday and I was at work on Monday.

You just need to be very careful with wat you eat to avoid from building food in the holes before they close.

get it done dude.. especialy before the hot weather comes and your stuck home on a weekend.

I had it done about 11 years ago. I had all 4 done as well in the dentist's chair. Bottom teeth always seem to take longer to heal as they can't "drain" like the ones at the top. The first day I took my first T3 when I got home with instructions that I couldn't take the next one for 4 hours. I was in agony after 3 hours. I finally had to take the second one after 3-1/2 hours. After that I was fine. I was sore for the rest of the day into the next but it wasn't quite as intense and I recall only taking a couple more T3s after that. I ate lots of ice cream, yogurt, jello, soup (after a day or 2), milkshakes & energy drinks.

My hubby had all 4 removed in the hospital under a general. He was uncomfortable for about the same length of time I was. The only difference was he was able to sleep when he got home. That made him a little less uncomfortable.

I made this post in another thread on my old account, didn't feel like typing it all out.....lol....it's no big deal, trust me.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out back in December '03. They used an injection to put me sleep and ****. Yeah after the surgery or whatever....its more of a pain in the *** cause of the pain, blood, numbness and etc. The one thing I hated the most was, the taste of blood everytime especially when I woke up in the morning, worst taste ever. T3's help out alot though especially if you had english class first period. You should be fine in about 4-5 days, one week tops. Good luck!

Its nothing, had mine done 13 years ago...in the dentists chair, all 4 impacted and I only took local freezing. Out within an hour, no swelling, no pain, no sickness.

I was eating ribs the next day, but the cleaning of the holes was irritating. Only medication I took was anti-inflammatories.

The teeth might not hurt...but when you realize you were sexually assaulted by your wierdo dentist while he put you to sleep, you might feel a bit of pain. Enjoy your operation...MUAHAHAHAH

i was awake, didn't hurt.. kinda cool seeing him stick all these sharp tools in your mouth and such.. you don't feel any pain whatsoever.

recoup for me was 10 days to run around in public and i ran out of pills early.

if T3 gives you stomach pain/nausea... you will get percs.... they can't test if it gives you nasea.... they will just give you stronger drugs.

i can't stand sitting at home... so i was popping pills to numb my boredom.

Nowadays before getting the needle to freeze your mouth they give you the option of using a cream to numb the gum before the injection. I had my lower wisdom teeth (both impacted) removed at the same time and was back to work the same day. There is no pain at all but the sound of your tooth being ripeed out is a little horrific.

Wow, if you say t3's hurt your stomach they give you percocet? They just skip over darvocet and vicodens and go right to percs eh?...cool, i guess.
I had all 4 of mine out, but only 2 were impacted. Its not really a big deal. I didn't even really swell up too much. Pain was moderate for the first couple of days. Just make sure to rinse the holes out with the syringe they give you and salt water.
Good luck.

I just got mine out today... my mouth is still frozen. I got perks and theyre sweet i just popped 2. NO pain yet and eating isnt that hard. Its just hard to drink you end up drooling a lot haha. But no pain as of yet... ill keep u guys posted how tomarrow feels once all the freezing wears off. The bottoms hurt more than the top cus they have to take some bone out with them, and they give you your top teeth and damn the roots are huge hehe. I never got a syringe they just tell u to rinse your mouth with water i believe you get the syringe at your follow up appointment which is a week after your surgery. And they tell u to drink 8 glasses of liquid before you go to sleep. But ill post tomarrow tell u all how the pain is.
