No...who said that...it's like saying Porsche uses a VW superbeetle engine Just cause the engine is a boxer type (horizontally opposed) it doesn't mean it's a Porsche engine. Many cars and motorcycles over the years have used this engine style. BMW motorcycles use it, as well as porsche, beetles, fiat, and now Subaru. Its overall a more balanced engine with less vibration. Plus some porsche engines are air cooled, this is water cooled.

Subaru and Porsche did work together to develop the Legacy B4(Japan only)
With the new Subaru Legacy, a high performance version of it has also arrived: the B4 RSK. The B4, which indicated suspension tuning by Porsche (yes, Porsche!), Subaru's new partner in Japan, and RSK which stands for Rally Sport Kompressor are the main clues to the true nature of this 280 horsepower sedan. That is the same output of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI (isn't it convenient how so many Japanese cars have 2.0 litre engines and put out 280hp?) which just like the Legacy will not be sold in North America. Quite a shame considering the performance and value. The twin-turbo system provides the excellent 4-cylinder powerplant with the power for some spirited performance. If you plan to spend most of your time at the track or rallying, get a Lancer Evolution, but if all you need is a great sports sedan with the ability to easily haul 4 people, the Legacy B4 RSK is a much more conservative choice.
Specifications :
dohc flat-4 twin-turbo
Displacement-cc 1994
Horsepower@rpm -276@6500
Torque, lb-ft@rpm -253@5000
Curb Weight-lb 3168
0-60 mph-sec 5.9
1/4 mile-sec 13.7
60-0 mph-ft - 600 ft slalom
Top Speed-mph 157
0-100mph-sec 15.9

Either to combat taxing of high perf cars or insurance rates or whatever. This is just a rumour I heard about from the hardcore WRX guys. Not sure if it's true though...

Peugeot cars were at one point available here...long time ago (many many moons ago ) Why 1sLO? Are you feanin for a 206 Something about Canada = small market...think about it, it would be like meeting safety regulations just to tap into a 30 million people market, 1/2 which drive trucks/SUVs, and the 1/4 drive domestic junk, and the rest pimp Japanese. Just not economically feasible for a "small" manufacturer like Peugeot. Besides, they tried it and got burned back in the 80s. Haven't tried since.

I never knew about the history of Peugeot in Canada....still a youngin
I was just about to search, just had lunch
Yea, I saw a few where I come from and it just started growing on me the 206....
I got an email from a friend in Wales, and he just blew up his 206 engine, and was telling me about this deal on a replacement for around £500 installed (~$1,200)
....he's having a hard time forking out the cash right now 'cause with his past CRX he swapped a B16 for roughy $6-700 and is asking himself why he never stuck to Honda
The prices for the engines here in Canada are much higher compared to other countries.........and that bish is complaining about $1200 installed for an almost new engine??
thanks

as I read your first paragraph, I was about to quote (about loving your brother) what you told me about my brother taking HGH.
"if you wanna play, you gotta pay"
atleast YOU will be knowing what motor you got, condition of it, etc.
plus who knows what would happen if it were to be shipped
B18C

Now, sure pay to play, but would it not make sense to get a euro spec (kinda like JDM) B18C, and regardless of what happens, it would cost me less than $3000 to get it here reliably. Then, use the other $3000 for a freshening of the bottom end, and some JUN or Spoon valves, Ti retainers, cams, springs, etc. 9000 rpms and climbing all for the price of a used USDM B18C5.

I agree, but what to do if your brother in this case isnt helping out? would you spend cash on some "supplier" abroad?
hi revving engines make music to my ears

Yeah, not much I can do...but I think it will make me a little more conservative on the boost with my D16, since I'd hate to be forced to shell out $6K now. I'd rather finish my Suzuki Samurai project before I start driving the Type R way
