I'm also not a huge fan of the Montanas/Kelseys/Boston Pizza chain-type restaurants. One of the worst experiences I have ever had was at the Alice Fazooli's on Winston Churchhill. The food sucked, the service was poor and it was super busy and under staffed.

As a spin on this thread... where do you like to eat???

One of my favourite restaurants is Big Daddies Crabshack. The food, service and ambiance are all great IMO. My favourite chain restaurant is Turtle Jacks. Good food and decent prices from my experience.

My real preference is the mom-and-pop family owned restaurants They have the best food and service. There are a few great little Italian/pizza places here in the Hammer.

Worst restaurant I've ever been to was the Rainforest Cafe in Niagara falls. When me and my girlfriend got there, we were so starved that we would eat just about anything... which was good for them because I would have otherwise slapped the manager in the face after they served us the crap they did. It was some sort of pasta with chicken in it, but if I didn't know otherwise, I would have guess turkey. Don't go there.

You pay a nice tourist premium there too.

Imperial buffet was good from my experience, but i do agree with taco bell, all processed ****. You can taste the freezer burn in their food. Disgusting.

with fast food you know what you're getting.

i would much rather have taco bell, then eaten gray beef with some weird crystally **** on it.
I would have to agree to this, since i have been back in toronto. I avoid new client or client brunches, or dinners. Over priced crap! Sure the company pays for it, but there are limits to what one would eat even it was expensive but free.

went to little Italy the other day forgot the name of the resteraunt, but apparently is the best one down there, i ordered lasagna, and i never tasted anything so tateless or awful in my life. It's true when you cook, your emotions do go into it, and this is why my mothers food always tastes best. Best place would be Subway (on the low), at lest you see what you are getting. Apparently North American food services have no standards.

If you want to argue my last point, go try Macdonald's, Pizza Hut or even Star bucks in Dubai, and you'll see my point, so this way you'll save more time..LOL

good thread, i always wondered what others though of the crappy food industry in our Country.

oooh..Imperial buffet is awesome! sucks compared to the 10$ buffets in the States of the same quality, but heres Canada for you =(

The worst experience has to be Johnny rockets at square one when they first opened.. This was before there was self-seating, we waited 15 mins before anybody even acknowledged us. After we got seated, it took about 20 minutes before anybody took our order. We ordered some burgers and chicken fingers, and it took maybe a half hour to come, and when it did, everything was cold probably cuz it was left out and ignored for so long. We got 4 tinyass pieces of chicken fingers for 8 bucks, what a rip off!

Oh! And there was a piece of cardboard in my fries, all deepfried and everything. My friend waves down a server to let him know, and the guy PICKS IT OFF MY FRIES WITH HIS BARE HANDS after just wiping the tables across from us! He then just walks away (LOLOL) We then had to get his attention again to demand new fries.

Remember when all the servers used to hafta do that frikkin retarded dance to disco music every once in a while? We were there for so long we had to see it three times.. it was horrible and so unenthusiastic, nobody knew what they were doing.

I usually never complain about anything, no matter how bad it is... but that time I felt like I had to. Wrote an email to their US office (since there wasnt a canadian one yet) and never got a reply.. so Im never going back.

Im sure its a lot better there now, but you only get one chance to make a first impression!

i went to this shawarma/pizza place the other day near my buddys new apt., when we got there it was run by a bunch of koreans. I was already thinking "pizza and shawarma WTF?" then when i saw the koreans running the joint i just turned around and went to get crapdonalds.

I'd have to say one of my fav places to eat is Tally Ho in westdale or Zum Lindzer (german food) downtown hamilton. Least fav would have to be Kelseys

I agree entirely... those asian people behind carribean restaurant counters scare me away.. lol

the goods.. I love montanas steaks(Y) Beaver and Bulldog in mississauga by far has the best wings I've ever tasted. and here and there there are those chinese buffets which i never remember the names but kno the locations lol. Tally Ho is awesome. If you like shawarma, try the Saffin Grill on Mall rd. It's awesome and cheap too.

Mmmmmm
I'm not a huge fan of saffin grills shawarma, they need to get with the times and put them in a big pita, not those tiny ones that they overfill like crazy, they're impossible to eat, and very expensive for a small shawarma. Theres a new saffin grill right near my place at the rosedale plaza on king st. I like their chicken and rice more than their shawarma

I like place downtown "eat a pita" I think its called, its right beside the Tim Hortons that all the bikers hang out at just before hess village. They make awesome shawarma and its like $6 with a drink.

Red rockets is good too, i used to live right across the street from the one on queenston, so i used to eat there all the time. Their ribs are amazing and their chicken sandwhich is something fierce.

MMMMM....tally ho's....i might go there for dinner tonight, the wifes going out with her slutbag friends so we're on our own for dinner.
