Yah this is terrible....and its even worse bc the two drivers are buddies of mine...i feel terrible for the child.(of the deceased parents)..as for my buddies...marco has bail 2morrow his bail is between 10-50.000 and ruben is in ok condition..with a broken leg and some interal bleeding...he is still not sure of what happened...
will keep u guys updated...

and for the record they were not street racing...marco was driving the speed limit...it was only the driver in the eg hatch was doing some speed b4 contact wit the van...
i hope this opens the eyes of other drivers that like to speed on the streets...

"Marco Gasparro, 19, of Richmond Hill, is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death."

So explain why he is being charged?

such a sad story. Its a shame that the ppl that arent " involved" in the race are always the ones that get killed/hurt.

may they RIP

Ironic...just as I was reading this thread, heard this really loud muffler going up the street (sounds like faster than the 60 posted) with another loud muffler following behind it. And it's 1 AM. ******* MORONS!!!

Which is why witnesses report seeing the two Hondas racing each other together and at extremely high speeds for some distance before the collision.

And which is why marco is also quoted by several witnesses repeatly saying "i'm sorry i'm sorry" for his part in the street racing crash.

Nice try Johnny Cochran.

For the record, I hope they both end up doing serious prison time for this one. That and a long driving ban after they get out of prison.

These guys are definitely not going to get off easily. I bet they make an example of them for what happens when you street race.

Try 150 kmph in an 80 kmph zone, with the other car right up there with him.

This morning, at 1am, I was woken up by this sudden loud "explosion" just around the corner of our street. Turned out (from the sound), it was a car. From the rough idling, it sounded like a small or big block engine. And from time to time, it floored its throttle and let me tell you, I have never heard something this loud in my life.

It throttled at least 3 times during the time I was awake, and it took a drag launch. Yes, a drag launch on a residential street. I heard tire chirping (but the chirping stopped fast so it must had some grippy tires) and I could hear it all the way even up to the major street (counting the turns).

And that was almost 2kms away from my house, and I still heard the noise.

When I had my straight catback, I drove 30 to 40 at night around all residential streets, always. Playing with your car is one thing, disturbing neighbours 1 in the morning is another.

Gotta learn from other people's mistakes.

Resist the temptation when some idiot revs next to you at a red light.

Don't do it! Look what can happen!

I feel sorry for all involved. Man I take it super slow in residential neighbourhood. I couldn't live with the blood of a kid on my hands.
