go to futureshop...new promo, 6 months of bell with no contract after and for the first 6 months its 25 a month....
You know why they offered that deal? Because of 295.ca

I've had their dial-up service for 2/3(?) years now (just $2.95+gst a month... compared to everyone elese's outrageous prices ), and I've had better service from them than I ever had from Bell. I am now thinking about going to their highspeed service.

Check it out. Not bad imo.

http://www.295.ca

I asked... they said if you have your own modem, you don't pay te extra $5 a month.

Majority of people are with Rogers. I had Rogers cable when it was first introduced. It was alright for the first year or so, because nobody else really had cable internet @ that time. I mean some people did, but most people where still using dial up.

I remember going on the irc chat rooms and people where shocked at my ping rate. Which at the time was 2ms. As rogers cable internet got more popular, down went my speed. I canceled with Rogers, and went with Bell sympatico DSL.

I've never looked back. I don't play online games through my computer anymore, but once I get xbox live, I will eventually use it on my 360. When I did play online games using Bell DSL. I would usually get the highest ping rates out of everyone playing. Average ping rate for me ranged around 40-80ms depending on the server, and it also depends on the game.

I like DSL, just because its stable. Its never different speeds, its always works @ the same speed.

btw, don't try to use cheap DSL services like "3 web" or similar companies. I did that, and I thought it would be the same as Bell Sympatico DSL, but its not. Bell DSL is way faster than those other companies offering lower prices for DSL service.

I'm with 3web 6mbps DSL I pay $34.95 a month They also have a Cable option where you can get 6mbps Cable for $34.95, but that wasn't available in my area. They used to run their cable off of the Rogers Backbone, but now they have their own. Its an amazing price, but tech support sucks really bad, so if your one of those people who doesn't know jack about computers then I wouldn't recommend going with them.

How so.. 3Webs DSL runs off of the bell network, I used to be with bell and switched to 3web and my speeds were the same except I was supposed to be on the 6mbps service so 3web had bell change my card over on their side to a high speed card and voila 6mbps for less then Bell charges for regular dsl.

I know they use the Bell network, but for some reason my speeds were different.

Maybe Bell DSL is slow in your area, but in my area its top notch.

I even did tested the speeds with www.dslreports.com. Before and after with 3web, and Bell DSL. So it was not just my imagination.

i have rogers now and i used to be with bell. I had the so many propblems with bell, router setup and dialing in. Rogers used to be crappy too but they have now upgraded alot of the problems;lines that bell and shaw had placed. So now most of scarborough and markham etc areas run actually partly on fiber optic lines and the rest rj45 cables i think thats what they are called. wth rogers it depends what speed you have but otherwise i have after 3 or so years have perfect service with rogers with an exception when my son damaged my modem. and its alot more plug and play friendly especially when running a network.
