DIY Door Panel Removal 97 CIVIC EX
My window was binding on the weather rubber thingy...
It would get stuck halfway... and since its a friday, I took it apart.
so if you need to take apart your front driver side door, this should help.
its my first diy post, so if you have advice, please post.
Here we go!
Here are the tools ... 10mm socket, precision flat , and a phillips.
The clear tape will be used incorrectly later...
First, take off the speaker cover with the precision flat.
And take off the three screws around the speaker. No need to actually remove the speaker, so leave the three screws holding the speaker.
Grab the handle, and pull from the rear side. The front needs a bit of wiggling.
This is what it should look like when it comes off. There is two screws, gotta take this off.
If you have power locks, and power windows, the electrical needs to be unplugged.
There is one screw on the top door handle. This slides forward and pops out.
It can be taken out when the whole panel pops out.
When putting it back in, close the door, sit in the driver's seat, push HARD and slide. took me a few tries. which is about 20.
Be careful with the door latch attachment. This has to be removed carefully.
Now start pulling out the panel from where the speaker is,
towards the rear, and there is three plastic clips.
The whole panel can be lifted upwards. Push all the loose parts through,
and the only thing attached should be the speaker.
Here is the top handle without the panel, to give you a better idea
Yes, I broke one of the clips....
Since I had to remove the window, I had to pull back the plastic.
If you can move the window all the way up, the bolts align, and can be removed with a socket.
I just taped it back up... It should be properly glued back with silicone... or wte...
well, that's my first DIY. ...
my power locks isnt working, so I'll be taking apart all the other panels later... i'll post them when i do it.
Good luck to all DIY.

Door weather strip that surrounds the door or the window track stripping? You can remove the window track weather stripping easily by rolling your window all the way down and just pulling the weather strip out. The one surrounding the door has clips almost entirely around the door holding it on, so you have to be careful not to break the clips.
