Smile 01-02 civics fog lamps installation

just bought a set of 01-02 civics OEM fog lights with wire relay and everything inside; but no installation instructions

does anyone know a good and professional garage that is good at installing these kinds of foglights into my 01 civic?
(if i don't want to do it myself)

thanks.

i actually have an OEM style harness which runs from the inner fender behind the splashguard into the cabin. only thing is i have an 03 so the hole for the switch didnt fit so i extended the wiring for the switch to where my power mirrors/cruise control button is, fits perfect there. believe it or not, i have 2 sets of fogs. i got an extra pair cuz the harness was better but the lenses are garbage so i keep it for spare parts. to cut away the parts of the bumper where you put the fogs is easy to cut. you can use a kitchen with the teeth to cut it, just make perforations with a drill and cut away. when night time comes, align the fogs properly. mine are about a foot lower than my headlights from 25 feet away.

let me know if you have any problems. theres a link on the 7thgencivic.com site about which eBay site to buy the best replica foglights in the lighting forum.

that's where the instructions suggest you put the switch (mine did anyway) but the 2002 si used all the spots over there, that's why i suggested center console

I'm just curious...what is the point of using a relay with fog lights? Can't you just wire them from the battery to a switch, then from the switch to the fog lights? (with a fuse or two in there of course)

So what exactly is the point of using a relay?

I just wired up my friend's fogs tonight using my method. I was going to use a relay, but didn't see a need for one. I can understand when using it with an alarm system, when you need an electronic switch, but why for fog lights? Is it so the switch doesn't have to carry high current?

Hey, I got em done at speedtech - 63 Silver Star Boulevard, Scarborough - (416) 335-8388, but these guys had to use a different harness to make it work, but if they are OEM it probably wont be a problem...
