Hi,

I have a 91 Civic. The instrument panel light went couple days ago. I am certain it is not the fuse (I checked the fuse and it looks good. Furthermore, the tail light is still working).

I wonder whether it is an easy task to repair the lighting system, or do I need to take it to a shop?

Haven't checked this post for a while....

Yes, the whole panel is out. Actually, over the last few weeks, the panel light has come "alive" and "died" and "alive" ..... My guess is there is some loose wiring.

Has anyone had experience taking the panel apart? I wonder whether there are instructions out there? Honda dealership will charge 1 hour labour for the work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

It's just a bunch of screws. Make sure you have a stubby for the back two. A regular size won't fit between the panel and the windshield.

Once you have the cover off there's two big white connectors on the back. Try pressing them in to see if they just came loose for some reason.

 

its pretty easy to do, try doing ti your self before taking it anywhere.
