is there any benifit to this exept making your car look lyk its a 99 or 00?

a lot of people r telling me to do this but i cant seem to understnad why

does any1 kno why poeple do it?

i personally think its for the cooler headlights..but i could be wrong..personally i think the 99-00 front bumper looks weird with the oem fog light holes.

There is no benefit, it is strickly for cosmetic purposes only. You should only do this if your front end was involved in a frontal collusion where you couldn't not find 96-98 parts for cheap or available and 99-00 is an option as far as repairing is concerned.

It is the same as some S2K owners who switched to 04 style. Benefit? None.

cause they wan't their car to look like the newer sir...

difference in headlights, foglights, larger grill, and the fact that the sir was available in the newer years so many get lips and so on to mimik that.

some prefer the 96-98 like i do, some prefer the 99-00.

This is slighhtly off topic, however, while we are talking about
96-98 and 99-00 Civics I had a question.
I was wondering if the rear pieces of a hatchback are interchangeable? I believe the lights and hatch are but I am not sure, is the rear bumper also the same?
I'm asking because if the lights are the same I would like to get a pair of 99-00 tailights because I like the look of the red/white compared to the ones with the amber that I have on my hatch.

Everything on 6th gen hatch are identical except the known pieces which inclued the front end, and the interior dash. So yes, the rear bumpers are the same.

For coupes, obviously, it won't fit hatches. Coupes fit coupes, and sedans fit sedans, but I believe the rear bumpers are the same for both sedan and coupe. Correct me if I am wrong.

Why is it that even though the rear bumpers are the same on hatchbacks from 96-00, that the rear lips are sold 96-98 and 99-00? Because I might have an opporitunity to buy a rear lip from a 1999, but I am not sure if it would fit.

the hatchback rear bumpers are the same for both years.
the reason they are sold as 96-98 and 99-00 is because of the coupes and sedans.
the hatch's are 96-00

Here goes nothing.

Sedan and coupe rear bumpers are interchangeable. The style of the bumper from 96-98 and 99-00 is different, but I am 99% sure they are interchangeable between all 96-00 coupes and sedans.

EK Hatch bumpers are all the same and do not fit on coupes/sedans

Acura 1.6 EL Bumpers will fit an EK Sedan / Coupe and they are slightly different in look than the CDM Honda ones.

Fog lights differ from 96-98 and 99-00

There is a very rare OEM Rear lip that was available for the 96-98

Tail lights on 96-98 hatches have amber turn signals where as the 99-00 Hatches have clear signals

Things that were different on my 2000 EX Sedan from my 96 Ex Sedan:

Height adjustable driver's seat

No Antenna (there's a module at the top of the back window instead)

Heated mirrors
