I have a 98 Civic EX and have noticed rust on the rear passenger wheel-well, directly behind where the rear passenger door closes to meet the frame. I have read that it is common to see rust where the fender meets the bumper however this rust is on the other side of the fender.

I have cleaning it, pumped vaseline underneath the rubber gasket and used touch-up paint..

No sign of rust on the other side...Any idea how much to fix this? Can they sand it, fill with bonda and re-paint?

Anyone else own a 98 with the same problem..I mean the car is only 5 years old!!! I have NEVER had rust on a car after only 5 years (Toyota, Nissan and Audi's)...

AAARRRGHGGHHH!!

Any reccos for bodyshops in North York would be appreciated.

That is common on Hondas to rust on the rear wheel well. Although, I agree that a 5yr old car should not be rusting. My 97 Civic Si has no rust although I do baby it like crazy.

If the rust isnt too bad they can either sand it away for light surface rust or cut that piece out and fill it in like you said. Rust always seems to come back...it's like cancer for a car.

i have a 93 with not to bad rust but it is weird... cause like a year ago i got the rear end painted through insurance... and at the time both quarter panels had rust at the top of the wheel well... and a year later the left side is bubbling and not looking to hot... while the other side shows no signs of rust....
