Anyone try the "silverstars" yet?

so my sylvania "coolblues" just went, and Im thinkin about investing in the silverstars.

has anyone tried em out yet? big difference?

they're a little expensive, and if they last as long as the "cool blues" ill be pretty pissed.

I have coolblues in my Saturn and I have Osram Silverstar in my Civic. It's hard to compare cuz the Civic light patern is way better than the Saturn headlights.

I just got my Osram Silverstars about a month ago now, they are wicked!

Had to wait a couple weeks to get'em but it was worth it!

I used to have the Coolblues on my previous car and was happy with them, no problems.

On my current car I now have the Silverstars and I am more than happy with them. They are nice and white (no blue) and a little brighter than stock.

Sounds awsome, but I just read in one of the other threads taht bulb life is roughly only 12 months.

My coolblues only lasted about 10 months. Kinda shitty..

I don't think thats accurate. I had my Coolblues for 2 years no problem, they were still on my old car when I sold it and were working fine. Companies like Sylvannia make OEM lights, so I wouldn't be all that concerned with their quality.

I have silverstars from sylvannia and i am very impressed and pleased. They shine up the road and highway so much better than my stock ones did. I do some driving back from toronto to london a bit and its an must have for me now. I got another civic with those cheap zeon lights and they dont shine anything, i know cuz i was driving back from london with them at night could only see like a foot ahead. So i'll be grabbing a pair for the other car too. Just my experience.

how much are they at CT Dave? and is the life of the bulb short?

Also does anyone know why the stock bulb lasts so long compared to the silverstars or any other "high performance "replacement?

Silverstars should last just as long as the OEM bulbs.

I saw them at Crappy Tire yesterday, and they were anywhere from $25-$27 each, I believe the H4 ones were $27 each.

I dunno about that.. Im pretty sure even on the Sylvania site it states an average of 12 month bulb life.

Ive had 2 seperate pairs of coolblues last no more than 10 months.

I dunno then, but the set of Coolblues I had on my old car lasted 2+ years and were still going when that car was sold.
