we have tack cloths for the dust ON the part
and for the other dust i mop the floor

airborne dust is sucked out with the fans that are mounted in the walls, set that up for about an hour before painting to suck all the dust particles out of the air before me and my friend tack up the peice and spray it......

has worked pretty well so far....

is there any other stuff to clean the part before we paint? there is a few spots on my hood that had dust on them and im going to have to sand that panel down again with 320 grit... i didnt seem to get all of the dust off.... what do other people use for dust removal?

sprayed most of the parts that arent on the car.... still need to do the hatch and one of the doors that wasnt 100% prepped

these pics are not the actual hue.... the actual color is more like the engine bay pic on page 1 that is soomed in on the driver side shock tower....

in the pic with the hood and bodykit did u wetsand the hood on some parts or what? there are blotches all over just wondering? or is it a bad lighting angle?

all in all good work looks really good.
another question is was the car in a front end collision? how come the front of the shock tower looks messed up?

don't know if you mentioned this above or not, but what kind of paint are you using, and how much did it cost you?

Team rukus.......no the car was not in an accident.. im not sure what you mean by looking messed up(before i smoothed it out?)... i shaved the holes and some of the small dents by welding in new peices or filling the holes.... so the heat warped the panel jus a tad and i felt my parts car tower and its just as bad as this one was before i shaved it... neither were in a acident...

and the hood that was spots that there was spot putty used on some small stone chips and then the primer on that spot makes the first coat of paint look like its spotty. After i do a few more coats it will go away!

im using single stage dupont nason paint. mixing 2 parts paint 1 part reducer 1.3 part hardener. we did 2:1:1 but it did not dry fast enough. and for 1 galon of paint 1 galon of reducer and 1 quart of hardener it ended coming out to 280$ with tax from the local Napa.

thanks for the comments guys, im trying my best as its my first time and its taking some getting used to.

the single stage paint doesnt use clearcoat... its all in 1 stage as opposed to base/clear

the only advantage of base/clear i think is the maintinance you have to do to keep a deep gloss... and i sit down and wash the car and wax most saturdays, so its no issue here
