the only advantage of base/clear i think is the maintinance you have to do to keep a deep gloss... and i sit down and wash the car and wax most saturdays, so its no issue here

Good work on the car though, wish i had a nice big garage/barn to work on my car.

ouch why did you spend so much time and cheaped out on the paint bro?
single stage is basically acrilic enamel that you get it spray bombs.
i just hope you dont regret it later. with all that work that went into this car you should've spent the extra doh on the paint.
also single stage doesnt look clear (shiny) it has a painted with a brush type effect.

my black with bronze metallic looked just as good as any other black metallic car...it was deep, rich and shiny....no orange peel on it or nothing...it was sprayed by one of the best painters in the GTA though...and I did prep it all myself
ahwell, I'm a fan of the acrylic enamel...its durable and looks good with minimum work

honestly... it has an extreme depth with my second coat on the kit part....
and the gloss... well you can see the gloss on the sunny pics....
as long as it doesnt go dull all of a sudden i will be ok...
in about 2 years i will want a change anyways... its just me... so why pay mre when i will strip it off in such a short time?

if you have no knowledge on paint/bodywork why would you make a useless satement like that?
you do know that orange peel is natural right? go look at some cars at the dealership you will see orange peel on every single one of them
and oh yea your telling me you never went up to a car that you saw that looked good from far and you knew it wasnt factory paint to check out how well it was done?
right

and yes thats exactly what I am telling you, sorry to hurt your feelings, but I don't get a hard on for custom paint jobs or tricked out colors. The truth, but you've been breathing in too many paint fumes to comprehend the fact

I guess not everyone likes to have clean good looking paint, doesnt have to be custom or tricked out but a clean paint job can do alot for a car.

Looking good, Matt. I recognize the bodykit, I think. Did you by it from some guy in Belleville? If so, I painted the grills and the *$#@ed-up turn signals in a friends driveway. LOL
My 90 hatch is a bright "Tangiers Orange". I might have to change the colour now tho. jokes
I'm not far from K-town. I'll have to come up and see it when you're done. I'm in farm country, Marysville. Just a little north east of the track in Shannonville. I hear it most nights.

well i've seen good and bad pics of macco jobs.. i think matts old rex was done at macco and it looked awsome.. but this guy i kno has a yellow eg and he got it done at macco.. and the quality of the paint itself is.. ok.. but its the job they do is ****... overspray... runs on the bumpers.. its the work your paying for right.. they don't care there.. i rather pay a bit extra and bring it to a better shop
