Calling all HID owners, need help
Ok. here's the situation.
Got HID, Lexus - only came with a ballast and a one foot wire harness (power and ground). I don't know how to hook this up. The guy that sold me the unit said to hook it up to 12V. ??? My question is:
1) Just hooking it up with no fuse or relays, isn't that dangerous?
This is what I am thinking. The wire harness has two wires, pink and black (power and ground) I think. I was thinking of pulling out the H4 connector and disconnecting the spade connectors and hooking the HID harness to the low beam and ground H4 wires. I also read that I have to change the factory fuses to 20amp. Would that over load some things?
Alternative.
I have headlight booster harness, which has two fuses and relays. But this setup draws currents directly from the battery, if I use the connectors from there, would it overload and short circuit the Ballasts?

This is how the H4 connector looks like. The line on top is low beam, the one on the right is High, and the left is ground.
Anyone wants to give this a shot?
Thanks

You'll have to wire in the serial diodes. You can use the aftermarket harness to try them. That harness should have the relays.
Try to hook them up. It's not going to hurt. Just remember to eventually wire the diodes in. You don't want to fry your headlight switch or any other wires.

I have a very similar harness setup, but not exactly as the one described in the link.
Mine harness goes from the battery --> 2 fuses (15amps) --> 2 relays ---> to headlight.

Mine is 98% similar. Would this be OK? how do I tap into the headlight, where does the diode go? If I had 2 fuses and 2 relays, would I need 2 diodes to rectify the currents for the 2 headlights?
Would I have to change the fuses in the fuse box?
Thanks
