Cool projector eyes vs stock?

I've been looking through this forum and it seems that even though the ebay projector eyes look way cool, they seem not to fit or work as well as stock lights with good bulbs.
I saw Cracker's cool stock light blackout DIY, but what a LOT of work. Doesn't anyone make black stickers to stick onto the lens to define the round reflector like I've seen on VW's? If not I'm going to make my own, sure will be a lot easier, quicker, and cheaper, than the other way. Hey maybe I'll shape them like real eyes!

Blacking out the inner lenses (like crackers DIY) is not THAT much work. Did my own without any trouble.

I don't recommend putting black vinyl over the outside of the lens. It will block some of the light beam and you probably won't be able to see as well at night.

Blacking out the inner part doesn't affect how the lights work because your not blocking any of the light beam or the reflector, making it a safer mod if you want the blacked out look.

Do the parts of the glass lens that go over you're blacked out inner parts do anything at all?

I'm assuming you're doing this to your 95 civic?

If so, you have the glass lights and with that type there really isn't anything to black out on the inside, since everything on the inside of those lights are reflective surfaces for the beam.

If your talking about the ek (96-2000) plastic headlights, because there is a huge gap from the inner surfaces (non-reflective) to the outer lens, you can't really cover any of the outer lens....at least I wouldn't recommend it.

The light doesn't just shine out directly forwards like a laser beam from the outline of the reflector, it shines forward and outwards to the sides as well.

^^not entirely correct. EG headlights have a trim around the reflector housing which can be sprayed black. Even though its not much, headlights seem darker just because it reflects inside.
Ps not sure which diy you are talking about but every blackhoused headlight is the same. You just paint the trim and not the reflector.
Also you can buy these headlights from optionJDM and last time I asked they said they throw in the full amber corners for free. Also the aftermarket headlights will not have those ghay nipples sticking out.
So in the end you can do it yourself or buy aftermarket blackhoused headlights.
OR just throw some amber corners and hid's in the headlights haha that's what I did when I had my EG and it looked awesome.
