Fiji blue or taffeta white?
#4
Reason I'm asking is because I am thinking of maybe getting the new 07 Civic, and with the exception of these two colours, I don't like any of the others.
I wanted to know what people think as far as which one is better than the other. I too think that white looks slightly better than the blue, but the problem I'm having is that white is a non metallic paint.
Still not decided ...

I prefer Rallye Red obviously. The new Civics look great in black, but a PITA to keep clean. The Galaxy Grey and Alabaster Silver are also very nice and not too common.
As for the original question, I prefer the Fiji Blue. Also consider that both of those colours are probably the most common. Most 8th Gen owners that I know of, who bought an 07 got white. Fiji blue was very popluar in 06 becuase it was one of the first colours available for the Si.

So far, all the cars I've had were red, hence the dilemma about getting another colour.
Silver and metallic gray I am not too found of because there are so many of them on the road. Black I would never get because, like Mike said, it's a PITA to keep clean. Royal blue and burgundy I would never get, because I just don't like the colours. They look to lame IMO. That leaves me with just white or fiji blue.
Most people on this forum and most of my friends seem to think that I should go for white. My only concern with that is that in the long run, every little stone chip and scratch will show much easier on a white car than on a blue car. On the other hand, white is easier to keep clean and doesn't show the dust and dirt as badly as the blue.
What I like about the blue is that it's metallic whereas the white is not. Not sure if that will make much difference or not, but I always thought metallic is better than regular paint.
Still not decided, but thank you everyone for their input. Please keep the suggestions coming.

go for the blue. white gets dirty easy.
i myself have the silver. its the only silver paintjob i've seen that will actually blind me when looking at the hood when the sun is beating down on it. one of the reasons i like it.

I went to the Honda site and compared both colours on the car. While the Fiji blue is metallic, and obvi looks good, imho, the Taffeta white looks smooth and sporty. Preference is the white, if those are the only two options you're thinking about.

So far it looks like the majority of people on this forum and on other forums as well prefer the white.
Personally I would not mind the white if it were metallic or pearl paint, but because it's not, I am contemplating on how it will look in 5-6 years. Now all the white ones look good because they are new.
The only problem with the Fiji blue is that it looks a bit too dark and I am afraid that the dust and dirt will show easier on it.
Let's see what other people think too.

if you are worried about weather effects over 5-6 years..just protect your car from sun and rain...lol...come on man....after that much time...there has to be some wear and tear regardless of the color you get.

Taffeta white gets my vote... same color as my car, I absolutely love white cars... they dont show dents or dirt as much as the other colors, and when it's clean, it looks amazing! Every car I've owned has been white, and taffeta white is by far the nicest I've owned...

I was wondering when Mandie would give me her opinion on this matter. I actually value your opinion Mandie, because you do own a car in the same colour.
Another guy who owns a Fiji blue told me that Fiji blue is pretty hard to maintain, and dust and dirt show on the car pretty badly. That and the fact that I have seen a lot of blue cars on the road but not too many white ones make me think more and more that my next car should be white.
