Grrrr...Dam Headlight Burnt out.

Man, freaken PIAA HID right head light burnt out on me tonight. What a waste. Paid quite a bit for them too. Lasted only a year, sad light bulbs. Just gonna stick with them cheapy ones instead. Happen just after my buddy at work was telling me about how one of his xeons just burnt out as well. This really sucks. Oh well, just wanted to let it out. :fustrated

I understand what you're saying, David. IMO PIAA is a waste of money, their claims of 30 percent or whatever more light is unproven. I'd rather pay the 25 for cheap bulbs and have them last as long as the 100 dollar PIAAs.. I think most people on this board agree with me..

But on the other hand, if you like expensive, who am I to stop you?

Money---> <---Me

hey D-type, just wondering.....r those Piaa's really brighter than others? if they burnt out in less than a year u can get another one from Piaa cuz it's under warranty...1 year warranty for their bulbs i think. and stay away from those xenon ones too cuz they burn out pretty fast i heard. although i had mine for about a year and 9 months until one of them burnt out!

damn, i thought those japanese brands would atleast last for a while, but i guess i was wrong. but remember, those bulbs r very sensitive, just make sure u don't touch the bulb when installing them or they will burn out fast.

If you want the same type of light as the PIAA superwhites, just get a set of Sylvannia Cool Blue. They are about $15 a bulb at Crappy Tire and look exactly the same as the superwhites. I used to have the PIAA superwhites on my old car and now have the cool blues on my EL and the light is exactly the same for a hell of a lot less.

i guess it just depends on the luck of the draw. my piaa superwhites have lasted 2 yrs and are still going (and this is the 80W version). no complaints here.

but i agree, they are too expensive. i bought a pair of eurolites to use when my piaas go. i'll let you know how they compare.

I'd have to agree with you guys that it is a lot of money....
I don't plan on getting expensive ones again, not worth it from what just happened. As for brighter or not, I would say that they are much brighter than your usual bulbs, heck, with that single bulb I was driving with, I could see almost as good as if I had two. They are very nice bulbs, I liked the white and they were good for gonig up north at night and stuff. Ppl even High beamed me thinking I had my high beams on...LoL!

Junior: If you don't need the bulb, I wouldn't mind taking it off ya. Appreciaite man.

If I do buy, I will probably buy the eurolite ones, not too expensive and seem pretty good from what Duy says. Or even the Sylvannia Cool Blue, those are even cheaper in price!

Else, stock lights suck! I got one stock on and one PIAA, BIG difference! hehe:working:

Just call up PIAA and tell them. They will send you a new set if you have your bill, and it's less then a year old. I have had 3 sets of PIAA Plasma Whites, But i only paid for the first pair. Pure scams. One time they sent me 2 sets by mistake. I sold a pair to Shredder, he loves them.

Anyways, bottom line call them up and bitch. IF you lost your bill then go on MS word and make an invoice up and fax it to them. Trust me it will work. The number is 503.643.7422

Good luck.

I found they last a long time if you don't keep SLAMMING your hood when you close it. (The vibration shakes the filiment)

interesting theory. i never slam my hood, maybe that's why my piaa's have last so long...

they can't be HID because real HID's have ballasts and yours are just bulbs I think what you're looking at is "like HID" not "HID"
