Happy Got A Question For Yea

From $499/Maaco........to LOTS OF $$$$$$$$$$$$$(depending on the shop) what they do ie......take off everything possible before they paint, or just mask it up (this is always cheaper, but I have yet to see a decent job when they do this) If there has to be body work done (rust) Kind of paint, Base coat/clear coat, Acrilic...... Ask what will be done......Tape it up, take it apart, or a combonation of the two. (some times it can get very expensive, ie...take out the windsheild. So they would tape it up, but things like head/tail lights, door handles, and trim that is easy to take off, should be to get a nice finish) Shop Around for the best $$$$$, and take a pen & paper to take down notes on what they will do. (My cousin got his Camaro painted last year. They said they would be taking off certain things, but when he got it back, some of the things were just taped up. He complained to the body shop owner (he took down notes before he got it painted) and showed what he had said.......he got a discount on top of it all. (cover your *** ) Do your homework.:working:

It can cost anywhere from $1800.00 on the low end all the way up to $3800.00+ on the high end.
It really depends on how much rust is hiding under your existing paint job and how much corrective body work is needed.
I paid $3800.00 for a full paintjob but this also included shaving my antenna, hood and trunk emblems as well as replacing a rear quarter pannel (entire thing).
Regards,
OK

Lots and lots of factors here go into determining hte price.
Just do your homeowrk - and don't go to a shop that you have no experience with...I mean, only go to a shop that you have been refered to, a friend, somebody here, something.
If you'd like I can forward the information from the place I went/ I am very please with the price I paid and the level of job I got.

Maybe you guys can answer my question too.
My hood is pitted badly, can that be fixed or should I get a new hood? (cf maybe?)
My rear bumper is starting to sag, again is that fixable?
My whole rear quater panel needs to be replaced (previous accident, nothing but bondo there)
Possible to fix side molding?
All emblems shaved
Wings West Big Mouth Bumper and Racing Series Sides And Rear.
I want all the above plus have the car block sanded then sealed and block sanded again, then primed and paint my orignal Captiva Blue Pearl but with a bit of a purple mixed into it. How much apporx. will all that cost me? I want it to be done a good shop.

You get what you pay for.. and replacing the rear quarter panel is gonna be expensive...
It cost me 1200.00 for a new rear quarter panel (both inner and out skins)..
For this paintjob and repair work you are talking about you are looking at like $4000.00 at LEAST man. But that would include all parts, labor etc.
