Hood scoop/ Vented hood issues...?
Hi.
I was wondering what are some of the issues with open hoods, like vented and scooped ones.
I know its a good thing to get the hot air out of there and get cooler air inside. But what about all the water and stuff that gets inside the engine bay?
Water defenately isn't good in the engine bay....

water has had no effect at all on my driving experiences, even when the shyt's barreling down..it's all in how/where you run yer air filter (i'll find a pic of that later..)
and my engine bay is so clean ya could eat off the sucka..

BSA Racing 16" rims. 4 bolt universal pattern, wrapped by 205/40R/16 Dunlop GT Qualifiers.
They are for sale BTW.

i have sunken vents right over my exaust manifold and i find no problem. remember you get water from under the car and allot more than you would get from the top remember when you drive the air going over your car pushes the water, but i remove my hood in the winter and put the stock one back on.

dunno yet about it getting blocked, but imo it'd be redundant..
and any snow getting in would melt, it'd be just like rain water in the end..
and yer still getting cool air, due to the climate, from under the car so..
not sure yet if i'll be removing it or not..probably, but we waits and sees....
