How do you open a shaved door?

As title suggested. I saw a VW Golf drove by on highway today and it has the doors shaved. I am just wondering, how does he open it?

this could work for the coupes and sedans too if they leave the back seats down...

Shaved doors are not the best thing to get if your in an accident a fireman won't be able to open the door if your knocked out....

also most racing leagues (if your into racing on the track) won't let you run unless they can get into the car if you hurt yourself.

I would have to disagree

I don't think this car would look right with door handles. Also my friends truck looks amazing without door handles( sorry no pics though)

Sorry about the pic size!!!!

You see the side skirt on that car, and there is this little triangle shape thingy on the top (not the hole that goes infront of the back tire), if that triangle line can extend to the door, that would look nice.

But in this case, the door becomes a big white panel that stands alone from the rest of the car, which becomes too obvious. Little things like that can off balance the aesthetic of the entity.

If the car has a more clean look, then maybe a shaved door would look cleaner. But all in all, door handles were designed to be there to begin with. And also safty reasons. What if the battery dies on the remote, how would you get in? And in accident and stuff.

But not everyone thinks before they act.

The door handles still remain's on the inside of the car so you're able to open it to get out.

Does anyone really plan on getting into an accident and if you ever did the fire department could just break the glass or use the jaws of life and rip your car apart.

There's remote controllers that can be used to open the door from the outside...and like Legacy said, the inside remains the same..

Everyone has there own taste. Some people like it, others dont.
Cayouga has no problem with shaved handles.

Almost all new vechicle doors lock automaticly when its in drive.

What if you locked your doors and get into an accident?
The frigile glass window is not going to stop the fireman when your life is on the line.

I guess I must be a wuss because I tried punching out a window before and no luck! Fack it hurt like hell, I thought I broke my hand! Don't even ask! Road rage! Guy was a coward and I was young and stupid! Much older, wiser and uglier now!

Spring loaded center punch works like a charm to break glass!

That car above is UGLY! I bet he still reaches in to open the doors.

It is all about taste. Frankly, I think shaved door is a cosmetic thing, and so is getting a leather seat. But you are just asking for more trouble with a shaved door because you are sacrificing easy access over outer appearance.

like mostly everyone else said its a safety hazard, btw i gotta agree thoo appearance wise shaved handles make the car look syckkkkk
and perhaps the solenoids may freeze during winter time here so it wouldnt be a great idea unless the car is parked winter and driven summer...den id do it...until den gots no choice
