How do you replace a rear quater panel?

Im looking to replace the rear quater panels on a eg. Do I need to cut or weld or snip the old panels off? Do they unbolt like a fender?

they are welded into the car's unibody... how you cut them off is entirely up to you, though a cutoff wheel is the preferred way.

You have to cut it off, they sell wheel arches for our Honda's which you weld onto your car after u cut out the entire quarter or you can measure and align sheet metal to it and if your an experienced body man you wont be able to tell the diffference between the two so both are the best options on fixing the cancer at the rear. Good luck

a body shop can handle that problem, you usually cut the metal another 1"-1.5" past the rust because its like a cancer that will turn good metal bad around it....

its done

Thanks for the refernce man.

As for Hybrid_hatch, No offence Hybrid_Hatch, but your car's in serious trouble. I bet that your rear jacking point isn't even safe.

You see the hole, well, inside your car the rust has actually worn through to the brakelight all the way up to the bottom of the drivers door.

Thats some serious work.

Consider just using fibreglass or getting a body shop to glass it, then you've got yourself a nice winter beater. But the truth is that unless you weld in new metal, your in for some problems later.

As it stands, you'll have mice and bee's nesting in your car. Don't laugh, I have had both!

actually I'm picking up some of the cheap *** quarters from canada press or somethign like that. Im going to do a cut and weld, then touch up on any other areas that need attention, then bare shell respray.

I think mice well living in the car. when I ripped out the interior yesterday, I found all kinds of filthy stuff.
