hub-centric ring for EK hatch

i recently switched wheel setups and had my new wheels balanced on a set of tires. they are balanced 100% because i have taken them to my mechanic twice to balance them. However, after 110km/h the steering wheel shakes as if the wheels weren't balanced.

my mechanic believes this is because the hub-centric rings dont sit flush with the new set of wheels for some reason. could this be the problem and where can i get new, thicker hub centric rings for my car? any help is appreciated, thanks.

Mb there is something wrong with one of the tires. If it's a hub-ring issue, perhaps the outside diameter (O.D.) might be too small, the hub bore or inside diameter (I.D.) on the EK is 56.1, you can bring it to us and we can check it for you in-house. pm me for our location.

It also could be the rims.......I had the same issue. I bought a set of IKON's from Wheel's Direct and we rebalanced like 6 times....I went to another 3 mechanics, did rebalancing......no luck still vibrates from 105+ to atleast 125...Gilman's Auto and another mechanic told me that the rims have a slight imperfection which is causing the wobble in the steering. My cousin also bought a set of IKON's from Wheel's Direct and he had the same issue. Stay away from Wheel's Direct, they would not warranty it, said it's my problem to deal with IKON directly.

i dont' even run hubcentric rings and I don't get any shakes. the wheels *should* be centered by your lugs pretty well.

ya but i have work lug nuts on so they dont sit that deep. my old rims never had a space between the rim and the hub centric ring... now theres about a 2 or 3 mm space there.

as long as you have the CORRECT lug nuts (acorn vs. taper) then I don't care what brand the lugs are. it's not like I use stock lugs either.

Aside from the H.C. Ring, make sure your lug nuts are torqued to spec.

Did u swap to SiR Suspension? If u did, the centre hub is bigger than Cx or Dx and I had this problem cause the rims don't sit properly. My steering wheel used to shake on the highway, and I blew a lugnut on the highway. I'm lucky that my wheel didn't fly off. Don't drive on the highway if this continues, just for your own safety.
