I'm in the middle of my bodywork...
I shaved my emblems and mig'ed the holes. For a first time mig welder, I did a decent job!
But I've been having a tough time getting the dented areas to not be to far "out". I would rather have everything "in" *slightly*, so that the bondo and filler can cover it.
1) Any secrets that can make my life easier? All I'm using is a light tiny hammer with different pieces of wood to tap in the "out" parts of the dents, but these damn parts of the dents that stick "out" slightly are so hard to push "in" without creating more "outs"... arggh.
2) Also, I know OEM paint is strong, but as I Dual Action (da)sand down with 80 grit, I found that my car has indeed been repainted the same colour.
Since I am prepping for a new decent paintjob, must I sand to the OEM paint/primer, (this is more work than I care to do) or is simply scuffing and sanding this repainted layer ok (note the paint on the car was not bad at all)?
Will I get shafted (who knows, maybe the last paintjob was cut with laquer)? I'm using PPG stuff and I'm cutting it with urethane stuff which is $$$ but better...
Thanks
