Mesh Grill
Dear ppl@TCC:
Good evening all!!
I want to put up mesh grill on my car but have the following questions!!:
- I notice that there are different types of mesh grill available (eg. diamond shapes and square shapes??), which type look better on a 95 civic coupe red??
-Is there different intensity for the diamond shapes? I notice that some mesh grill have larger holes (spaces) between each shapes. Where can I find mesh grill that have larger holes? (Those that are too intensed looks like a peice of silver plate instead of a mesh grill)
-What color should I paint the grill? I think silver looks good??
Thanks all!!

its a brand name. Its the "mesh grilling" you are talking about. Go to any body shop and i'm pretty sure they will have it.
Or you can be like my brother, go to home depot, and get the eastdroughs steel covers so leaves do not get in them. It is grillcraft pretty much but much cheaper.....
And it is already stainless steel.....

Yeah, thats what I have on my car. That type is custom fitted already to your car and actually clips in ! Easy removal and easy installation !
If you want to do it the cheap way that wont cost you more than $20. Go to home depot and get the eastdroughs protector thing. It is mesh that you can use for grill craft. It is stainless steel. No heavy and very flexible. Not bad for $20. Mounting it isn't that hard.

Mesh grill and fog combo
Hey Every1, I have a 92 Civic 4dr White. I want to install a mesh grill on mine also. What I want to know, is there a way I can install the mesh grill and have my fog lights behind the mesh grill so it's not visible in the day, but you can see the lights at night time?
I have fog lights on my car right now, but I want to change them, because the lenses are cracked. And then install the grill in front of the fogs.
Anybody know what I'm tryin to say?

Well, I would use the Gutter Guard stuff.....why you may ask......easy, it is galvanized, therefore it won't rust as quickly as the floor stuff. I used the floor stuff before on other cars, and it rusted the first time it was damp outside. I wanted it to stay silver, that is why I didn't paint it. With the Gutter Gaurd, I drove though winter without it even painted, and it stood up to the elements.
Up to you guys. Go with "gutter" one, and not have to worry about painting it, or get the floor stuff and also pay for primer AND paint. You never paint steel without first priming it. So in the end, I would say the "gutter" way is cheaper and lasts longer. But what do I know.

Check out my site. It has instructions on how to make it and what tools to use. I think someone was asking about hiding the foglights behind the mesh so its not visible during the day... I did that too and it turned out pretty good.
I'm not using my red bumper anymore but I still have the mesh tied to it and the bumper is still sitting in my closet.. If anyone needs the mesh as a template I can provide it.. It'll save you the 8 hours I spent trying to perfect the curves to make it fit 100% flush.
