The vents and stuff should be molded plastic, primer, paint and clear coat should do the trick. The dash is vinyl, that you need special paint for.

VHT vinyl dye or Krylon fusion paint works. I suggest that you take your time to prep and do light coats topped off with a clear coat. No problems here.

The clear coat is a layer of paint that is clear, it basically protects the paint from dirt and light scratches. Makes it easier to clean and gives your paint a nice glossy finish.

what would stop the paint from chipping so easily?
more clear coat?
more/less coats of paint?

it was light sanded, primed, painted 4 coats, 2 coats of clear coat.
And it chips was too easily

I usually do about three light coats of clear coat. I've been known to do up to six though. I haven't had any problems with chipping, and the paint on the ReX is about 1 1/2 years old.
One other thing that you have to be sure of is a proper cleaning of the parts prior to any paint.
I start off with really hot water then an ammonia based cleaner and a small wire brush. The wire brush saves me from having to sand later.
You really have to go with light coats to avoid easy peeling and chipping.
Most of my friends get impatient and want to be finished with it quick. Sooooooooooooo, they get a blast of **** from me for putting out an inferior finished prouct. LOL

how i did mine.. 92 hb dx
took out the vents, dash, anything i wanted to paint...
washed them down with soap and an industral cleaner just to make sure they were cleaned, the i sanded them down, i used a more corse paper then most do, then i re washed it and let it dry.
after i got exactmatch from CT, and a clear coat, did light layers and took my time with the paint, then did about 6 clear coats after.. they turned out very nice
