aftermarket muffler tips can melt the bumper/lip etc depending on how close it is to the bumper/lip.

oem ones tend to have a cooler tip and tend to stay away from rear bumper etc...

I would say you would be safe as long as they dont touch.

Exactly. And if they DO touch, then get yourself to a muffler shop to either get some rubber spacers put in, or get them to weld longer hangers to the exhaust to drop it. All you need is a little gap. Same thing happened with my CTR replica lip.

yeah just don't let them touch at all, otherwise it'll start melting right away... and then melt in half, i have like a 1/2 inch gap between my muffler and my rear lip and no probs yet after 2 months or so of driving.... i don't expect to have any

am I the only one who can touch my exhaust after many hours of driving, and the exhaust tip is still not warm?

I cut a half ciricle on my lip, so the tip doesn't touch the lip. I probably have 1/2" of gap there, so no problems there.

You may just be...lol. After about 20 minutes on the highway, mine's hotter than hell and yes, when I installed my aftermarket muffler, I installed the canister a lil too close to the bottom edge of the stock bumper and it DID melt. When I installed my rear lip, I have since then lowered the canister about 0.5 of an inch and haven't experienced the same problem.

Cheers,
Buddah.
