Removing dried wax

I waxed my car a couple weeks ago, but did rushed job, and got wax on some of the trim around the windows. I use the Back-to-Black stuff, but it doesn't remove the wax, it just covers it up temporarily. Any ideas on how to remove the wax permenently. Paint thinner or varsol maybe?
Thx.Mike

If wax on window, you can grab a blade and evenly wipe the glass surface with it, or use a cotton cloth to wipe it.

On car, to get ride of old wax, just use regular dish wash detergent. I just did with mine yesterday and rewax the whole car.

dawn and a non-abrasive scrubber..
if that doesn't work it sounds like you've given the wax a chance to sink into the rubber, bleaching it in a sense..

My uncle told about an old-school trick if the wax is too old to come off. He said to use a tiny bit of black liquid shoe polish. It won't remove the wax, but it will dye it black.

CDN Tire has some Color specific wax, i forget the name of it but it comes in a bottle, with a little lipstick like chip/scrach filler thingy.

I have no idea how GOOD it works, but it comes in liquid black, as well as other basic colors, like red, green, blue, yada yada.

It also is supposed to fix minor imperfections cause it is colored.

It may be called something like Color Cure...can't remember

I could be a real *** with this and sell you each personally a little white bar that will solve all your problems for $10 each, but since I'M SUCH A GOOD GUY!!!! Stop spending your hard earned $$$ on "I hope this works" crap and go buy a "GOOD" white eraser, you know the kind from school. I had the same prob and my room mate details cars 8hrs a day, I asked, he said "White Eraser", so I tried and IT WORKS!!!!

Sorry about all the caps

Shane

I just tried it. It works! I used a Staedler white eraser i found in my junk drawer. I just did a small section, and it does work. You might need more then one eraser because it totally chews it up, and they aren't cheap. Shane tell your buddy he's a genius.
