side marker light.. general question

i want to remove the side marker lights on my civic
you can see them in my sig

they came with the car when i bought it, but they
arent actually ones that light up (atleast these dont)
and they are two different side markers
one is orange in the middle, the other is blue
and both have different faces to them, but both
are the same size

are these usually stuck on with tape? or are they screwed
in? im gonna replace them so I dont care about whats
underneath, just need to know how they might be put on..
and what to use to remove them..

they could be stuck on with tape...or clipped in...if they have no bulbs or anything id say they could be stick on...to find out you'll have to pull out the fender liner...and if there are hole you'll have to put something else there or get them filled...but i guess you are replacing them...if you not too worried about them...id carefullr pry them a bit to see...id probably break them out myself

just watch you paint

clipped or taped on is the case 99% of the time.
jus make shure watever u replace it wit is big enuff to cover the hole behind it.
also put grease around the edges of the hole to prevent rust.

im gonna get the smallest flathead screwdriver and attempt it tomorrow.

i want to replace them with blue led/bulb ones (whatever they make for them)

can someone tell me some light up ones?

theres a nice silver '02 civic coupe that drives around here with blue led washer sprayers and side markers, has a nice deep tint.. looks awesome i think

are they illegal btw? pretty sure they are.. id wire them to a switch in the console some where rather than headlight switch..

I have blue ones on my CRX right now (you can see them in my sig a pic)
I'm going to be changing to a white side marker with an amber bulb though. I don't want to have the hassles from the police.
But my understanding of the law is that you can only not have any blue facing forward.
There is no law about side markers for now as far as I'm aware.
Maybe someone can confirm this though

My understanding is that it is only illegal on front facing bulbs. There is no law about side markers. But still I don't want the hassles so they gots to go!
I've driven by popo and they dont' say anything, then again mine only flash when i signal, but they've still seen it!

there is a section in the hta regarding side marker lights...it only mentions vehicles over a certain length...turn signals/corners up next to the headlights are identification lamps..and ill have to look up the rest..but i feel sick now

You might find that you have hole's in your fenders.

The hole's might be to big or small for new side markers'. Not all have the same diameter.
