I bought my Silverstar on Saturday...
But I am quite disappointed as they look yellowish, and I couldn't notice much difference when comparing it with Coolblue.

Is it just my car or someone else actually feel the same!?

I just bought SilverStars for my car TODAY (Dec.1/2003) and they cost 27.99 each (bulb) @ Crappy Tire...

I heard a lot of "good things" from these forums about these "Silver Stars" so I hope I won't be disappointed...

I previously had 5000 K bulbs I got from E-bay (manufacturer: KOBA) ... had em' for about 7 months before one of the bulbs blew out...

Am i the only person on here using the Krypton "Showoff" bulbs? They are just as nice as silverstars IMO and they cost about half. I have had em in since the summer and used them quite a bit and they havent blown yet.

nope I havent taken pics but if Aleks (SilverSiG) comes on, he has seen em before. If I can get pics I will try and post em up.

They are pure white, I have done the test with putting somthing white right in front of the headlight and there was nothing but whiteness. I think they are like $20-30,I got them off SiR_Yo pm him for info.

Day time won't make your silverstars burn out faster, If you look carefully at them the day times and the nightlights are on seperated "capacitators". When my bulb blew the day times worked but the nightlights didn't so you might as well put the DRL's back on.

i believe that the daytime running lights work on the high beam of the bulb, i took the DRL out because the silverstars are just too expensive to replace even if the high beams give

I also disabled the DRL's on my car. Making my headlights last longer is one reason, but I also can't stand DRL's either. Blowing the high beam portion of an H4 bulb can affect the entire bulb, it happend on a set of cheapo lights I had a few years ago. IMO, DRL's make most people not think about when they should have their lights on in the first place. I see way too many people that are only using their DRL's in rain, fog, snow, etc. If people drove smarter we wouldn't even need DRL's. The only time I don't have any lights on is when it is clear and sunny out, if its overcast I just have the park lights on, and if there is any sort of precipitation or obviously at night time I have my full headlights on.

thanks for the support Chris.. IMO silverstars are a waste of money... we still have our SHOWOFF Krypton bulbs.. and I wish I had pics of my car b4 I had them in.. and even of chris' car.. cuz they are damn nice..

I'll try and grab a few pics as I just put a pair in my parents' CRV the other day... and yes.. they are cheaper than silverstars

I just purchased and instelled Phillips Blue Vision bulbs.
IMO they're just as good as Silverstars ... not quite as bright but omit a nice white light. Two of these bulbs are about the same cost as one Silverstar bulb which burnt out on me in less than a year. You make the call.

hey sketch, are those Philips Blue Vision UltraBlue 4000K ones? did you get them from powerbulbs.com?

so they're not as white as silverstars? cuz i think both of them give out the same colour temperature of 4000k, so they should be the same.
