So I went to get estimates on cutting the cancer out of the rear quarter panels...

I went to about 5 different shops. the most expensive repair was 1850$ for both car, which isn't worth it cuz i bought the car for 3000. the cheapest estimate was 600$. And this shop also offered to do a complete paint job fixin other rusty spots including the rear quarters for 1500$$. Sounds like a good deal, what do you guys think?

ya thats what i figured.... braising is not to strong.... but if your just brasing in metal for the quarter panel then it might not matter..... but i'd feel better knowing it was welded in....

yo man.. i work in guelph.. just curious which shop gave u that quote?? i am interested in doin it too..

as him to give u more details about the job regarding the 1/4.. cuz make sure its new metal.. and that they seal it so the welds wont rust..

also for the paint.. find out if its acrylic enamel or base-clear..

1500 is average price for whole car done.. i have been quoted from 1100 to 2900 for that with base-clear.. and like everyone says.. u get wat u pay for.. so its all a matter of the quality of the job or references he can give..

but if he is willin to do the 1/4 work for 400 bucks both sides and to stop before painting.. or 600 for both sides includin paint of 1/4.. thats a great deal.. most shops wont do piece work..

let me know.. extremely interested..

Whatever you do, make sure you get the car undercoated soon after the work is complete....I didn't do this, and I wish I had.
