TYC projector head lights and HID kits

Hi Guys,

Im thinking of getting HIDs for my TYC projector headlights... they are the ones in my avatar.

Not sure how this works... id like to get a plug and play kit as it would be best for my wallet but what kit would i get for these headlights. I heard someone talk about some issue with the stock bulb size being different then the tyc headlight bulb size... i don't see why that would be a problem but if someone has done this nice little add on to there tyc projects a bit of info would be great.

Thanks alot of the helps guys

I have a plug-n-play HID kit in my TYC projector headlight (95 civic) as well, with no modification necessary. It was a very quick install too.

even with the h1, you might need to drill it out a bit to make sure it fits properly

Not in my case, and I have the exact same projector and car as Bruno.

This is how mine looked with 4100k plug and play H1 kit .....

i say do a retrofit, you'll be way more satisfied with how far and wide light goes with OEM HID projectors.

Retrofit FTW! or save your money from buying a HID kit and just get blue tinted bulbs ... basically the same output

its funny how people always suggest the best but really... im driving a honda... if i wanted the best i wouldn't be... i just want somethign decent.. im not trying to be some an infinity or something like that with some crazy projector lighting... i just want something better then what i have now that looks decent... i've done my research and found that retro fit is WAY more expensive... its not like saving another 100-200 bucks to get something better.... its like 5 times the cost...

i don't know why the cut off up top looks so off because my cut off on my projectors are much cleaner then that...all i need now is the hids.

anyways thanks for the info guys..

very much appreciated

so just because you drive a honda, that means you should sacrifice your night vision with less light on the road? yes, that makes sense.

Well it looks off because HID bulbs doesn't have a filament to light up the bulb. It uses an arc that throws light everywhere and your halogen bowl is not designed for that kind of output.

If you think by putting HID in a halogen housing would make your output better, your wrong.
The output will have uneven beam pattern, very narrow width, Glare issues.
It will LOOK brighter but in terms of performance not really.
Some people say putting a hid kit in projector housing is better then reflector housing which is half true, but your lighting will still be like what you have now but only LOOK brighter with glare issues and narrow beam pattern.
Looks like your gonna have to do a little more research
go to hidplanet and reasearch there.
