Ugly Pinstripe removal

Heya guys
i have a hatch with some pin stripe on it and i want to remove it. i friggen hate pinstripe it drives me nuts. anyway i have some goo gone and a blow dryer for some heat, I tried that on my old car but it still left residue. just wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what may work well. also does soaking the goo gone for longer periods work well and will it damage the paint at all???
