Hi.

I've been painfullying prepping my civic for painting... a lot of mig welding, getting the rusty parts out and welding in new patches.

But what about the gas tank near the rear wheelwell on the driver's side?

Would a wet rag, some plastic sheets and tape seal it and be enough? Is that all the body shops do?

Please, I really don't wanna take out my gas tank, its a lot of work (I'm guessing) and the bolts are all rusty

man thats scetchy... Ive heard of guys getting blowen up using an electric drill too close to airplane bladders inside the tail... I would at least drain the tank, and releif the pressure...

juzt b careful and im with what boostzex said, its alot more safe that way

i've heard completely opposite of that a couple of times. some say fill it up b/c it's not the gas that's flammable - gas is mostly just water - it's the fumes that are flammable, the less fumes there are, the less risk there is...
