Yellow bulbs like the fog lights on Lexus?
Hi all, I'm looking into getting a set of fog lights for my EK coupe. However, I want to get a set of bulbs that look like those fog lights on Lexus; you know, the really yellow ones? I've heard about Osram All Season but I don't think they're that yellow. Does anybody have any idea where I could get my hands on such bulbs (in Toronto)? Ideally I want something that's OEM quality (OSRAM, Sylvania, Phillips, etc.) cuz fog light bulbs are hard to replace once the assembly is installed.
Thanks guys!

hey man, nice Hyper Rev
Have you flipped through it so much yet that it's starting to fall apart?
I know mine is
I've refrained from lookin in it since
As for yellows, what size are Lexus ones? Could you somehow order it from Toyota? I don't know, maybe try asking them?

Good idea Ryu! I just check the Sylvania website and found that the Lexus fog lights are just regular H3 and 9006 bulbs. Then I guess it must be a yellow cover in front of the bulb that brings out the color. Are those shields or bulb covers available anywhere?

WOW!!! Those are really yellow! Sanjay, where can I find the APC ones, and how much should I expect to pay for them? Is the bottom pic from a car with the APC bulbs installed?? Are they legal?
But if you paint the bulbs, would that cause them to crack when heated? You know how we're not supposed to touch the bulb's surface when we install them because the oil from our fingers would cause them to pop? So why then is it possible to paint them?
Thanks Sanjay!

Yellow bulbs was mandatory in headlamps in France for many years. They supposedly creates bigger contrasts in less visibilty. Today its only found in fogligths. Automotive bulbs with actual yellow glass envelopes aren't made any more. Cadmium was used in their manufacture, and is now outlawed, having been identified as a carcinogen. Today's coated bulbs are a poor substitute for the original. The best bet would probably be to look on the on-line auctions, since somebody may still have a stash of these old bulbs. Expect to pay big bux.
Here is a list of yellow bulbs in production today:
Narva Gold (Yellow)
Hella Yellow Star (Less Yellow)
PIAA Ion Crystal (Yellow) (use search engine: "PIAA H3 Ion Crystal" will give many results)
PIAA Ion Yellow 2300K (Yellow)
Philips WeatherVision (Less Yellow)
