99 Civic sedan Engine swap
Hi everyone, im thinking of doing an engine swap on my sedan for more power for next year. but im not sure what is good for my car. i would love to get a K20a but i know that is expensive to get that done. so else would be good, or would just keeping my current engine and adding stuff to it would be better because i only have 150 on it.

depends on your budget. Boost gets you relatively cheap power. You can easily find used kits for under $1000. Swaps aren't just about the engine, depending on which block you go with, you're looking at transmission and exhaust changes which run the price up a lot.... you're looking at anywhere between $2500 to $7000.
Do your research, call garages and get quotes, decide based on your budget.

JDM H22 Type-S Red top.
220hp and 163wtq.
it's basicly your reg. h22 but with higher compression, better intake manifold, better cams, and a lsd. I had a friend put down 204whp with that motor in a civic. Only mods were Aem cold air, 4-1 header 2.5", 2.5" cat back with a fpr and gauge and a chipped p28 running a tuners ecu of that motors baseline. He still has the car and it doesn't burn any oil. He maintains it though and doesnt drive it like he stole it.
Now imagine putting a better header tri-Y race header or a bisimoto header, with cams and adj. gears and tunning it fully.... I wouldn't be surprised if that motor pushed upwards of 240whp!
Cost for that motor/tranny is about $3,000-$3,700.... shop arround u can get them for less.
I am def. thinking of putting that in a Acura El.... in the near future.
