Hey everyone I need some help with something.....I'm driving my car and suddenlt the radio turns off and the lights go dim and the car shuts off....the battery is brand new and I took it from another car that was working so I know its not that....when I boost it it runs fine even when I take the cables off until the little charge that the other car gave it runs out then it quits again! I've changed the alternator twice and it worked for a little bit them stopped again....just wondering maybe the alternator isn't getting the proper signal from the ecu to tell it to turn on? (the electrical plug that goes into the alternator)....Anyways need your help guys!

first things first.. get an AVR test done. If so and the charging system is at fault, my next step would be a quick test on the power cable then a bench test on the alternator

 

K thanks....thats fixed now...there was a short in the wiring harness somewhere!

 

if i t was broken u woulda herd some kind of grinding noise prob.
