well i can get myself a b18a1 out of a 91 teggy but will it be worth my time switching from my y7 or should i just turbo my y7 and through some rods and pistons in it?

You'll need to swap the transmission and axles as well if you go with the b18. Bit more hp and torque which is nice. Will be cheaper than boosting your y7, but not as fast.

If you boost the y7, you need to set a realistic power goal and budget and go from there.

well i can get a hole swap motor for 50$ and it only has 60km's on it its at my old work in a scrap car so he will cut me a deal i can have the whole front clip and what ever else i need... but he also has a y7 with 300km on it but i bet its warn out.. should i take the head of and port and polish it.. what else could i do to stock parts to give me hp? i just got layed off so i have lots of time on my hands i would almost want the B18 though becaust its a dohc can looks cooler and more hp..

The non vtec b18's aren't that spectacular.

Build the d motor with a y8 or z6 vtec head and boost it to about 200-250whp. That's your best option for building a reliable quick car and not breaking the bank.

well i can get a turbo kit with rods for my D for 500$ if i deside to just boost it i might make my own kitt if i dont get one.. i can get turbo's for 50$ with no shaft play i have a intercooler of a STI i can get lots of steal piping like 2.25'' its like 20 feet for 30$ and ill buy a cast manifold for like 100$ i have pipe bender access and welding access but a bov will cost me.. and thats with no upgrades to the internals (mined my spelling) no matter what it will cost me 500 for a turbo kit..

Then there is the b18a1.... i worked at a scrap yard in the summer and me and my boss are friends now. i can have the hole front clip of the teggy like wiring everything, and there is like 4 more hondas there that must have a liquid tranny in it... or could i make something so its cable.....?

keep in mined im 18 and i pick up really easy im going to collage next year you tell me to do it i will figure it out,

Ask for a frony clip of a 94+ integra. Wiring/mounts/tranny/shafts will work. Will make your life easier.

was the b18a the block that cracks? or was that the first gen h22?
