Question Best Engine swap

Hey I have a 96 EK HB looking to do a swap this coming winter for a Vtec engine, right now i have a full B20b (pre. owner put it in) but looking for a better engine going to be making this car my daily driver as well i would like it to be a sleeper! the B20b does have some quick acceleration but shoots out high rpms on the hwy ..... so any ideas ? thanks

Get a B-series vtec head (b16, b18c) and slap that on your b20 block, tune it and have fun.

That is probably the cheapest and best solution for you, instead of swapping.

dont bother. non-vtec is the way to go. build the motor or just turbo. faster and cheaper. [for the power you get]

^ I think you meant "head", as in 'cylinder head'...changing the header won't give you vtec...lol

H22 is not a bad choice, but not very common either.

b20 vtec conversion would be the easiest and probably the most cost-effective route for a reliable NA 200whp.

+1 for b20 vtec conversion.

B20's had weak sidewalls, i wouldn't turbo a b20 block without completely fully rebuilding it. I'd stick with vtec. You already have more low end torque from the larger displacement.

yeah another reson for the swap/vtec conversion has a small oil leak some were hoping its just from a gasket if i do the vtec conversion would end up doing a full rebuild of it just to be sure and the pre. owner did some hack jobs on other stuff like the exhaust goes from factory (1" and what ever) to 2.5" back to factory! hahaha lot of use that did oh well got it fixed now untill i get a cat back exhaust on it

I know most people say B16a2 or b18c gsr, but for me the turbo D is a monster I just like how easy it is to swap and the parts are cheap on top of all that you can build a turbo D from a nice 200whp to a crazy 400whp and if you got mad cash you can get even more HP out of the little sohc

my vote is the JDM D15B build and turbo
